Play WanMei Online with Vista OS

You are using VISTA and having problem to sign-in or log-on to WanMei Online (完美世界)? Here is a solution for you:

1. Press (Window + R) button on your keyboard, to call out the "Run" window.

2. Type in "C:\Program Files\WanMei Online\Element\elementclient.exe game:cpw"

3. Click Enter.

You are suppose to see the log-on window of WanMei Online already.

PS: I try to create a shortcut on the desktop and have the Target's field key-in "C:\Program Files\WanMei Online\Element\elementclient.exe game:cpw", but Vista just won't let me do so.

Nvlddmkm.dll Failure c/w Blue Screen

I noticed that when ever i run DirectX 10.0 demo, video's DVD, and RM player, i will get a blue screen after a couple seconds i closed the program. Message shown on the blue screen read "Nvlddmkm.dll" failure.

I tried to seacrh related information on the above mentioned problem, then only i found that Nvidia Gigabyte 8800 GTX is not ok to operate with Window Vista... :( But, the munufacturer claimed that the card is actually designed for Vista??

Also read from the internet, to date, there is no solution / fix for this problem yet. Takkan... i go and change the graphic card @_@? Haiz, a lots of bad luck this year. I should listen to the Fengshui Master that visited early this year: Do not do any new investment in year 2007 !!!

Btw, if i'm not watching any TV or DVD using my PC, it is still working. Still can play online RPG games like : WanMei Online (Perfect world online), QQ games, and etc.

Restore Window XP Taskbar

Having problems with my taskbar recently, after i installed new application softwares. I have multiple "Language Bar" loaded everytime when i startup window.

It was very annoying as the taskbar became disorganized. Although i tried to remove the additional language bar, the taskbar just can't back to normal look.

I tried the Taskbar Repair Tool on this website: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm and it works. When i looked through the website, i found that this tool is actually worth to download, as it really can solve all kinda taskbar problem. e.g. program missing in the taskbar when u minimized it. However, this tool is only work for XP.

Can't find any Wireless Network??

My friend's DELL laptop suddenly can't find any available wireless network. It works fine before that and usually she can get a few networks available in her area. I have double check the wireless network card and try to turn on the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) feature on the laptop, but it still didn't work.

The problem solved when i apply the Fn+F2. This feature only apply for Dell's Laptop which we can turn the Radio on / off by applying Fn+F2. I think she was accidently off the radio on her laptop, and that's way the wireless card is disable and can't detect any wireless network.

However, i did learn new thing when i try to repair her wireless network connection. WZC is a feature available in Window XP. Sometimes, when the software come with your wireless adapter's manufacturer cannot help you to get the wireless connection up, you might wanna turn on the WZC feature in XP, so that you can use the XP's native support for wireless networking. It can be turn on by taking steps as below:

1. Start > Run> type "services.msc", and click open
2. Scoll down and looking for "Wireless Zero Configuration" service and select and double click on it to open up the propertise window.
3. Select "Startup Type" as "Automatic".
4. Click "Start" at the "Service Status".
5. Click "ok".

You can now have XP to manage your wireless connection.

Interested to get knowing your genetic Blueprint?

It is interesting to know, the technologies are now enabling us to sequence up our genome and understand our own genetic information from our 23 paired chromosome. However, to read trillions of copies of genome in a single human body is expensive. It may simply cost a million USD to do that. 23andMe, a private held company in California is currently working into this, so that the cost can be bring down to USD1000 with advance sequencing technologies. You can see an example on James Watson (co-discovers of DNA's double helix structure) personal genome's structure on this website: http://jimwatsonsequence.cshl.edu/cgi-perl/gbrowse/jwsequence/

I read about this in the NewScientist Magazine. Just wonder if they can sucessfully bring down the genome screening price to an affordable one, and also provide the information hide inside the DNA, there will be a new business market then. I mean, it is no point just get knowing the sequence and you can do nothing to change anything, rite?

Home Business?

Recently received quite a lots of "Home Business" or "Online Business" invitations through e-mail or read it in the forum that i often visit.

They sound real simple like you just need to subcribed / submit your e-mail address and read the advertisements sent to your e-mail. You will get paid when click the link provided and stay for a while at that website. When you introduced friends to the programme, you will share the profits made by your friends.

Some of the invitations even just lead me to a one page website, asking me to paticipate in the programme and start earning money without much explanation or description on how it actually works.

Well, i cannot deny that they are attractive. Reading those threads or articles or histories mentioned about people successfully get high income like USD4k-5k per month. I really doubt about the truth behind those wording, but its really attractive. HaHa. No doubt, i'm greed about whealth. My mind is like non-stop thinking about :"If it is so easy, why not i just give it a try?" But then, that is just for a moment. The next moment, i'm getting alert and remind myself not to get "addicted" to this kinda "easy online money making" programs. Although i did participate in 1 - 2 online business things, but they are like fulfilling my curiosity. I just wanna know wheather the programme is true or not :p

Just like my Mum always said,"You won't get anything without unless you work hard for that." An advise to friends, better concentrate more on your formal daily career! Cheers!

Window Can't Startup...Becoz IPOD connceted ?

Window Vista cannot startup with IPOD connected to it.
Do you experienced this before?

Last night i leave my IPOD connected to the PC when i shut down the PC. The next morning, when i tried to start-up the window (the IPOD still connceted to the PC's USB port), it stucked at the "Memory Test" status. I tried to reset the PC several times, it still cannot work.

I tried to check it out, and i noticed that the IPOD is connected to the PC and the power's light is flashing. Iunplugged the IPOD's USB , and the next time i restart my system, it start-up smoothly.

I never experienced this before when i'm using Window XP instead of Vista. Dun really understand why is this happend. But, the lesson is, better disconnect the IPOD safely before shut down the PC to avoid anything like this to happen again.

"rseb.sys" Problem Experienced with Vista

Yo! Guess what, i get a new PC together with friend last weekend.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz
G-Force Graphic Card with 512M Ram
Gigabyte Mother Board
160GB Seagate SATA Hard Disk
1GB DDR2 RAM
Samsung 20x DVD burner
Vista Home Basic

Just cannot wait to try it out, hehe it is my first time trying out the Vista.

This 1st thing i do, is install my PROLINK WLAN adapter's driver, so that i can get online. Everything seem working after the installation. As usual i have been asked to reboot my PC to get the new setting working, but when i reboot my PC, TA DA!!!!! I CANNOT EVEN GET THE WINDOWS STARTED...

It stucked at the page saying "rseb.sys is missing or corrupted" . Get real upset, becoz i'm using the microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, and i haven't install their drivers, so the system cannot detect my keyboard & mouse :( Luckily, i still have the old PS2 keyboard at home, and i get to reboot the PC from last known good configuration.

When i surf the internet about this rseb.sys file, i get to know that this file is actually created by RALINK. I suspect that my PROLINK WLAN adapter's driver that i installed ealier is not compatible with Vista. So, i went to the PROLINK's website to download its lastest driver, and of course, Microsoft website to get the Vista compatible drivers for my keyboard & mouse too. After that, my problem resolved.

Then... i didnt live happily ever after, but i spend my whole weekend downloading drivers for my other gadgets -_-!!

MTU of a network

Last thread, i mentioned that one of my friend reduce the MTU size to enable MSN chatting when he is using IzzI to acces the internet. Below is what i get from Wikipedia about MTU:

In computer networking, Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) refers to the largest packet (size in byte) that a communications protocol is able to pass onwards.

High MTU: Higher bandwith efficiency. However, for high MTU set for a slow interface, can block-up the interface and cause lagging on other packets.

Low MTU: Increase the number of data packet, which increase the routing decisions of a routers. Thus, slow up the communication.

I found that, if i can settle the problem by setting the PPPoE connection to static connection, then i should reduce the MTU. This will actually slow-up the whole network. I experiment his method by setting the MTU==576 at home, and online using a laptop and a desktop at the same time. I found that both of my PCs' connection are slow, and get disconnected quite often.

When i switch it back and using my own method (static PPPoE), the connection is faster and i'm able to play online game smoothly (althought there is a ~1 sec lag).

So to my point of view, to have the home network connect to the Izzi's terminal with a router. It is better to set the router to connect using static PPPoE and maintain the MTU==1400.

Connect router to IzzI wireless modem

My router model is D-link 624 (i know, its a bit out, is a discountinue product...)
This is how i succefully connect my router to IzziPro terminal.

1. I access my router UI through http://192.168.0.1/, and change the unit IP to 192.198.0.1.
2. I set my router to PPPoE access with the my izzi's username and password.
3. Set a static PPPoE IP range from 192.198.0.2 to 192.198.0.254.
4. Enable the DHCP of my router.

and, that's it. I'm able to connect a desktop, a laptop and a PDA to the router and online, and MSN chatting through izzi's network.

nice to share ^^

iZZi Wireless Broadband

Try out the IzziPro yesterday nite.
My area is Bandar Sri Damansara, and i stay at 5th floor.
The signal strength stay within 50-60% only.
The agent told me that their Kepong tower will going to operate by 15th Sept, which is today. He mentioned that the signal should be ok after 15th of Sept.

Even the signal strength is within 50-60%, the downloading speed is quite stable at 380++kbps. I surf the net whole nite from 8pm - 1am in the morning, the line din get disconnet. But, when i tried to play online game, there will be a 1-2 sec lack.

This is much more better than Maxis wireless broadband that i used before Izzi. Maixs wireless is not stable especially during 8-10pm, keep on disconnect. Check the network type, it shown HSPDA connection, but dun even can chat with my friend on MSN.

I'm quite satisfy with Izzi and plan to stay with this wireless broadband. However, i would like to know, how am i going to connect it to a router so that the network can share within several users at home?

I'm using a D-link router, i'm now able to surf the net, but cannot sign-in MSN. Anyone can help me on this??

My New Nokia N76

HEHEHE!
Wanna share with you all my new Nokia N76.
It really looks great: Slim & Stylish.
I bought the phone at the price of RM2073 @ Sungai wang.
The original package come with a free Nokia Headset & 512M micro SD.
At first feel like wanna upgrade the memory card to 1G, but the salesman wanna extra charge me RM70 which i think is quite expensive, so i din take the offer.

Quality of the sound & speaker quite good.
The speed of applications is up to satisfactory, everything start up at a just nice timing.
Camera response is fast, but this phone is dun have a Carl Zeiss's lens, photo quality just so so if compare to N73.
Web browsing is quite convenient coz can rotate the screen to view more text lines at one time.
Will share more experience, as i just starting to explore this phone.

For me:-
Outlook: 9/10
Value: 7/10
Applications: 8/10

PS:-
For those who having problem to access the internet (wap) or sending/receiving MMS with you new nokia handphone (even after you have already save the settings from your service provider), i have a tip here for you.

SYMPTOM: When trying to send MMS, Error code display: Packet data not allowed.

1. Go into the main menu
2. Tools
3. Settings
4. Connection
5. APN Control (Access Point Network Control)
6. Waiting for the phont to retrived your SIM content

If there is notes saying: Retrictions activated,

7. Options
8. Deactivate Restrictions

The phone will asked for your SIM card PIN2 code.
For Maxis's SIM, by default is 1234.
If it is not, you can call your service provider to get the code.
Dun try to guess too many times, the phone will block the PIN2 code, and ask for PUK2 code, which is even more troublesome -.- !

Problem with my DELL's Laptop LCD Screen

I'm using my Dell Inspiron 2200 for 18-month already. This morning when i start-up my laptop, i noticed there is a permanent blue line on the LCD screen. I try to restart and reinstall the monitor driver, but the line is still there :(

When i surfing the internet, hope to get some solutions to solve this problem, i found a website that discuss about "Faulty Dell Inspiron LCD Screen". Then... i realized that i'm actually one of the victim. Haiz... I never have this kinda LCD screen problem with my Compaq's laptop which is already 3 years old.

Feel sad about this. The line is annoying. Don't feel the same satisfactory anymore when i'm playing my warcraft now. :(~

Battery Hours of O2

I really fedup with my O2 battery hours! My O2 Atom has some many function and games but the battery hours really s*cks! I just play game for half an hour and it consumes 50% of my O2 battery hours? I just can't imaging that. That is no point to have a sophisticated device that can only be use for a while.

Compare to my Nokia N73 Music Edition, i can listen to FM radio/music for a whole day but my Nokia N73 still have more than 60% battery hours. That is what we call balance design! The battery hours really can support the N73 as a great music device & a handphone at the same time.

Window Pocket PC vs Palm OS

Recently i'm looking for new staffs for my O2 Atom. Actually i didn't explore much on my O2 since the day i bought it. I just use it as my organizer and phone. When i started to install new software to my O2, i found that ... window pocket PC is totally different from palm OS.

Most of the freeware i downloaded are in .prc format and cannot be installed. Then only i realized that my O2 is actually running on Window Mobile 5.0. Well, i think i knew it but never realized that it is different from Palm OS. I need to look for files in .cab format or installer for window pocket PC for my O2. A bit stupid -_- but never too late to learn new things ^^

Would like to share a few websites that have freeware and nice games for pocket PC.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/
https://www.astraware.com/

PS: I have also tried on the new Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5. The syncronization process is faster. If you would like to try on it, can download it from Microsoft website.

Where to get the local GPS maps wor?!

Hmm, I think everyone should be quite familiar with the GPS (Global Positioning System) navigation tool already. "GPS" should be something that can navigate us to a place accurately. Last time, whenever I heard about GPS, I can imagine about having a PDA alike tool with LCD screen in my hand. When i look into the screen i can see my own location and the tool can shows me the way the location I intended.

However, when i purchased my first GPS receiver (HOLUX brand, a simple one)... I just found out that, i actually need a sophisticated local digital map for the GPS receiver, and also a navigation software for it to work as a navigation tool. Without a valid digital map, and navigation software, i just can only see my own location in Longitude & Latitude. In fact, THE MAP IS REAL EXPENSIVE!!! Only then i know... GPS receiver is just a tool that can tell your own location accurately >_< (But, i still can cope to find some free GPS maps online)

Recently, i tried on the new launch N95, which have built-in GPS receiver, it comes with Singapore and Klang Valley maps (smart2go Nokia maps). Map is free, but need to pay extra for the navigation function (-_-!!). Hmm, just have a feel on it at the shop, never test it on the road, so cannot comment on the accuracy (++ It is still at the cost of RM3000 ++ VERY EXPENSIVE!!) . In fact, I think it is quite difficult to get other free digital GPS maps that work on Symbian OS.

Haiz....

Virus arrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get infected by virus again... and this time my AVG seem likes can't kill it!!!!
(Pls dun ask me where i get the virus -_-!! i din't surf the porno website... k? >_<) OMG!! I have scanned my laptop for thousand and million of time and i can't get all the virus kill. After each scan, the will be some new familiy member: Trojan Horse PSW.Generic3.xxx in my AVG's virus vault!

These are the symptoms
1. Everytime, when i wanna shut down my laptop, it will turn into blue screen.
2. When i restart my laptop there will always be a runtime error warning...
3. When i check in my Window Task Manager, there is a lots of "isignup.exe" processes which occupied up my CPU usage.

However, after some hardworks, i finally get it kill.
1. I scanned my laptop using AVG, Panda Online Active Scan, SUPERAntiSpyware, DrWeb-CureIt, and ComboFix I just have been told that one antivirus software can't kill all the virus... -_-!!

2. Then, kill the isignup thing by

a. Delete the ShellExecuteHooks event:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellExecuteHooks]"{B8A170A8-7AD3-4678-B2FE-F2D7381CC1B5}"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B8A170A8-7AD3-4678-B2FE-F2D7381CC1B5}]

b. Restart my laptop

c. Delete the virus exe files:

ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer\ConnectionWizard\isignup.sys
ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer\ConnectionWizard\isignup.dll

d. Delete the Virus Registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\qqjdd]

Finally, my laptop back to normal and i need not to format my laptop. Well, i am actually, i getting guidelines and helps from the Geekstogo forum. Quite a lot of expert there which is kind to offer their help. They also introduce quite a lot of useful and free antivirus/antispyware software.

Sketchup A Nice 3D Software

Recently, i have tried on the Google Sketch-Up, and i came up with a 3D drawing which displayed above. Well, it is a stage design, that i tried to propose to my boss. I'm not a graphic designer, and I know it is actually not sophisticated -_- However, what i wanna mentioned here is, i just took about 15 minutes to learn the software and another 10 minutes to draw. It is much more easy compare to Photoshop.

Free version can be downloaded at http://www.sketchup.com/. There are a lots of tutorial and Plug-in for this software. The one which is quite useful to me is the "Sketchup for Film & Stage".

PS: If you have any other 3D drawing software which is easy to learn and use (hope that it is free -_-!!), please drop me a comment and recommend it to me. Thank you very much!

The RFID

RFID stands for Radio Frequency IDentification. RFID technology is using radio waves to automatically identify objects or even human being and animals. It is pretty similar to the bar code identification system: RFID tag/card and RFID tag reader is equalvalant to bar code and bar code scanner. However, one of the great advantage of RFID technology is that we don't need to have the "line-of-sight" scanning for the RFID reader to read the RFID tag/card as what is required in bar-code idenfication system. Thus, RFID cards also known as "contactless card" or "smart tag".

RFID tag consists of an Integrated Circuit (IC), which attached to an antenna. The IC is used to store the data/information, while the antenna is used to transmit/receive or transmit and receive data. RFID tag can be in various kinds of form and sizes depends on its functions. For a passive RFID tag which is read-only, the size can be as small as a grain of rice. The RFID reader is just a radio frequency receiver and transmitter that is control by a microprocessor. Information is sent-to and read from RFID tag by using the RFID reader.

It is interesting to know that the first e-Passport which implement the RFID tag is issued by Malaysia in year 1998. In addition to information also contained on the visual data page of the passport, Malaysian e-passports also record the travel history (time, date, and place) of entries and exits from the country.

Apply for Streamyx?

Well, the reason why i wrote this article is because i really have a bad experiece with my STREAMYX application. >_<~

Nowadays, application of STREAMYX is so easy as there are so many the so called "authorized" resellers of TMNET Streamyx out there. You don't really need to attend yourself at the TMPOINT to do that anymore. In fact, you even get the agent's contact number from the simple+small poster stick on the lamp post, which written"STREAMYX RM77 01x-1234567" everywhere (just like how you get to know your Plumber contact number in an emergency, LOL).

What you need to do is just submit your home fixed-line number, IC number & your name to the authorized reseller. They will settle everything for you: From filling up the form till doing the set-up at your house. If you are good enough, you can even submit to the Streamyx-in-a-Box package, whereby you will do the installation by yourself. However, there are always unluckly person like me, who still can't get the Streamyx services on after 2-months.

What i done was, i went to a TMNET Streamyx authorized reseller, provided the information to them and signed on the Streamyx application form. I would like to subcript on the Streamyx 1.0M with free modem package, which will cost me RM88/month. This is done in early MARCH 2007.

Few days later, I had been informed that Streamyx is available for my phone number. Then, there was a technician from the authorized reseller, coming to my house to do the installation and i have been charged a RM88 installation fees. As i also notice this "RM88 installation fees" wording in my application form, i just pay him and let him do the installation.

Unfortunately, after the hardware installation, the technician told me that my fixed-line still don't have ADSL signal and he said he will help me to log a report. Accroding to him, the problem should be settled within a week time.

However, after a week, i still don't get any ADSL signal at all. Thus, i decided to call the TMNET Streamyx customer service centre to complaint on this. I complaint for several times and TMNET Streamyc Customer Service concluded:

1. I'm actually subcript to the Streamyx service as "self installation". Although it was the authorized reseller's technician doing the installation, he is not a TMNET's technician. If TMNET technician is doing the installation, they will not collect any money from me, it will appear in my TMNET BILL!!

2. There is no port available at my area at the mean time. I'll will be lucky to have my streamyx on as soon as there is some one at my area cancel their service. OR TELEKOM decided to extend the port.

3. Port availability problem is actually Telekom's problem which is a different company from TMNET, TMNET just can't do anything and only can wait for the respond from TELEKOM.

Well, when i asked why TMNET approved my application and saying the service is available in the first place, but in fact it is not. The customer service's answer was: I'm considered as doing self installation, so it is actually my fault. I should get a TMNET technician to do that. (-_-?)

Until today, there is no solution for my case, and of course i still don't get the Streamyx broadband service at home. In fact, i had cancelled my application last two weeks ago. I'm now using Maxis 3G broadband to online at home. Using my 3G phone as a modem and get connectted at 460kbps. It is a bit slow compare to 1.0M Streamyx, but at least it is an alternative for me after two months waiting for nothing.

So, my suggestion is, if your really wanna apply Streamyx, why not goto your nearby TM-Point and do it there. At least, you can make sure that you are doing it in a correct way. From my point of view, if you go through the authorized reseller, the so called "authorized reseller" is actually taking the advantage to earn commission from TMNET and also the installation fees from the applicant. If you think that why not to let the agent earn their money, so that it is no headache for you, you are definately wrong. Just like myself, if anything goes wrong, it is actually the applicant who will get into the big-deep-shit -_-!!.

PS: I still remember, when i referred this matter back to the authorized reseller, asking about refund by returning their modem, suddenly there is a TMNET guy called up and congrates me that my Streamyx is activated?!! When i asked how it gonna work as at my home there, there is totally no ADSL signal? The TMNET guy get shock and asked back who is the person calling just now that asked for activation???

PS2: Maxis 3G broadband package is at RM120/month for unlimited data download. I think it is quite worth it for it's mobility. Now, i can online everywhere with my 3G phone, as long as the coverage is there. The speed is quite ok for me, as i don't do a lot of downloads. However, compare to Streamyx 512k RM77 + fixed-line rental RM26, it is still a bit expensive.

The LHDN e-Filing

It's the time of the year again when everyone rushing to fill-up their tax form and submit it before the deadline. This year the deadline is 30th April 2007. Well, it is good to know that LHDN's e-Filing system already officiated in year 2006. We are now able to do our tax filing online. As the system already there for one year, i think it should be quite stable and worth for a try: e-Filing:Mudah, Tepat & Selamat ^^. (Yeah, just feel lazy to fill in the complicated+details+confusing BE form, and do the calculation myself =_=!!!)

When i click on the e-Filing official website https://ef.hasil.org.my, i have been informed to get the first time login pin number at the nearest LHDN office.

When i attend myself at the LHDN office (the one that is just opposite the Perhentian Bus Duta), there is a special department which handle e-Filing services application at the 1st floor. The procedure is quite easy, i just need to give my IC number to the LHDN officer, then they will register me on the system and give the pin number on the spot. It takes less then a minute for me to get my pin. (wow, i'm really impressed)

The LHDN officer even kind enough to offer me to do the e-Filing on the spot. I just when inside the room and have a look on how other people do that. Hmm, this is exactly why i don't wanna do that on the spot. I feel like no privacy where there are strangers standing behind, "reading" my annual income details... However, the officer did warn me that there are people trying to do the e-Filing at home, but they are not successfull. (Erm, i thought the idea of e-Filing is to ease the tax payer so that they need not attend themselves at the LHDN office to pay their tax?)

When i finally gathered all the information i need, i went home to try on the e-Filing system by myself. After i downloaded and installed the Digital Certificate as required. I tried to login for the first time, but i'm not successful. I keep getting the same error (dcSignX Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument) after i keyed in my "CrytoAPI Private Key" password.

I'm kinda disappointed and regret that i didn't listen to the LHDN officer advise to do my e-Filing when i'm at the LHDN office :(

As LHDN office is actually quite far from the place i stay, i decided to give the customer service a call and see whether i can get help to solve the problem. Well, i don't really put in much hope. However, i get my surprise of the day, when my problem resolved with the help from the customer service officer.

goto
start -> setting -> control panel -> Regional and Language Option -> Advance
Make sure that, the option under "Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use" is selected as English (United States), the click Apply.

After that, my problem resolved, i can login successfully and do my e-Filing online. I really appreciate the help and also the e-Filing system. At least, from now i need not to apply a half day leave to settle my income tax. It is something that you really should try, if you do have internet access at home.

The information on the steps to do the e-Filing can be found at
https://ef.hasil.org.my/files/panduan.asp

Getting Confuse with GPRS and GPS?

A lot of people get confused with GPRS (General Package Radio Service) and GPS (Global Positioning System). They even think that GPRS = GPS!

GPRS is actually a mobile data service available to users of GSM network mobile phone. GPRS provides moderate data transfer rate, which enable MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service), Push-To-Talk over cellular, instant messaging, internet application for smart devices, Point-to-Point service, SMS (short Message Service), and etc future enhancements.

While, GPS is a navigation system developed by United State Department of Defence. GPS is a space-based navigation system, which using the satellites' signal to aid the navigation around the world. As it is free for civilian use, the navigation data can be downloaded anywhere (of course without obstacles) and anytime by using simple GPS receiver. Magallen and Garmin are two of the popuplar GPS receiver manufacturers.

Nowadays, mobile phones or smart phones keen to include GPS services. For example, Nokia N95 and Doppod 900.
